The Miracle of Shiloh ’99: A Family Led by the Hand of God
I have been a believer since December 12th, 1993. My sister, Maria, and my brother, Nicholas, met the Lord a few years before me. Later, my younger brother, Paul, encountered Christ in Kaduna at Living Faith Church. It was through Paul that we all discovered the profound depth of the Word of Faith preached by Bishop David Oyedepo and Pastor David Abioye.
Hearing those messages felt like salvation all over again—our spirits came alive. Our faith was renewed. We devoured God’s Word with hunger, passion, and a sense of fresh purpose.
So when the very first Shiloh was announced for December 1999 in Otta, Ogun State, we each determined in our hearts to attend. But here’s the twist:
I was living in Lagos.
Maria was in Benin City.
Nicholas was a student at UNIZIK in Awka, Anambra State.
Paul was living in Kaduna.
None of us discussed travel plans. None of us knew whether the others were attending. And remember—this was 1999. There were no mobile phones in Nigeria. No texting, no calling, no WhatsApp groups… nothing.
Over 200,000 people gathered at Canaanland for that historic first Shiloh. The crowd was massive—humanity everywhere, stretching far beyond what the eyes could fully take in.
Yet in that sea of people, God orchestrated the impossible.
Nick ran into Paul.
Somewhere else on the grounds, I ran into Maria.
And then, as we moved around the Faith Tabernacle area, the Holy Ghost guided our steps until all four of us literally walked into each other at the Faith Entrance.
No planning.
No communication.
No way to track anyone.
No technology.
Just divine orchestration.
Looking back today—when phones, GPS, and social media make connection easy—many people may not grasp the weight of what happened that day. But in 1999, in a crowd of over 200,000 people, meeting your entire family—without prior arrangement—was not coincidence.
It was direction.
A God-incidence.
A sign that the same God who gathers His people also orders their steps.
Shiloh ’99 didn’t just mark the beginning of a global spiritual movement. For us, it marked the undeniable evidence that God was weaving our destinies together in His plan.
And we have never remained the same.
